contemplation.
Dearest shadow,
In the quiet moments that i spend in the library, killing time, i always get a book of quotes to read. It started out as something short to read...since its not a story, i wont borrow it, let it sleep on my desk and pay fines on it later.
As the story goes, my lit degree scarred me for life...i could no longer read without analysing a character in my head. without picking out foreshadowing or literary devices of the text..without wondering why this word was used instead of that or thinking of its latin root... a friend said that i will one day reach a point where i can no longer read. i couldnt digest that comment. she said she never wants to touch another book again. i disputed and she calmly tapped me on the shoulder and said: call me when you get there.
i did.
It takes alot for me to freak out on a shakespeare module. ALOT. but, i reached that point with my last shakespeare module. it was time to get out. but i digress. Eventually, a volume of quotes became the only thing i could read for pleasure and still indulge my brain in some analysis.
for sometime now, i've been doing alot of this kinda reading. amazes me how such a short line of text can make you stare out the window for 15 minutes. i mean, i dont even feel the bus journey. they really are the loveliest things. the most profound of truths, explained in the most wittiest manner. it makes me reassess my life. block out the stupid things that people pass off as the truth, as wisdom. reassures me that most of the decisions that i've made in life were amazing learning points. sometimes when i've managed calmness, it forces me to question what the missing puzzle piece is. when my days are terrible, it perks me up. but most of all, it makes me smile a lot. and i love smiling.
here's one i like. beautiful handwriting by the way. why dont we get planners like these? i'd gladly tick things off if my to do list looked like that!

live as if this is all there is.... :)
